Paris Apartments

There is an ad on this page which advertises Paris apartments as an alternative to Paris hotels - if you plan to stay for a while  - longer than a few days, but not for too long. Paris is, of course, one of the most beautiful cities in the world; however. it can be expensive. Those high prices sort of keep it exclusive.

Global what?

From a Yahoo! News story: “PARIS – A massive ice shelf anchored to the Antarctic coast by a narrow and quickly deteriorating ice bridge could break away soon, the European Space Agency warned Friday. The Paris-based agency said satellite images show the bridge that connects the Wilkins Ice Shelf to Charcot and Latady Islands "looks set to collapse." "The beginning of what appears to be the demise of the ice bridge began this week when new rifts" appeared and a large block of ice broke away, it said.” I don’t worry about these things at all – I prefer tropical weather and I think the entire world should be tropical. The sooner the ice melts the better.

Europe

Doug Casey writes: "I think Europe is in even bigger trouble than the U.S. It's more highly regulated, more highly taxed, more imbued with socialist ideas. It's demographically in decline, and it's the front line in the War Against Islam. Forget it - except for a quaint vacation. I'm a big fan of Brazil; love the place, although I spend most of my time between Argentina and Uruguay, which I prefer. Any of these three countries (and Chile) are great choices. You'll get all the things you like about Europe, a lot less of the things you don't like, plus more opportunity, much lower costs, and vastly better weather - to me, it's not even a choice."

I must say I disagree with this, but only because I think Europe is about to take a sharp turn to the right. Europe and South America will probably soon create the biggest trading partnership in the world, so it won't matter where you decide to deplane or disembark. Good luck to you.

Ukrainian women

All of a sudden I am getting advertisements on this blog from a matchmaking business for Ukrainian women. What's that all about? Not that Ukrainian women are not beautiful - of course they are. They are gorgeous and very young, too. They deserve a good, comfortable life. It's way too cold up there. I think the woman at left is Ukrainian. She might be Russian too. Is it the same thing?
