Evolutionary fairy tales

People who support the theory of evolution to explain the existence of the Earth and the entire Universe and all the things in them and, of course, life itself, use time as a crutch, saying that given enough time, anything is possible. The truth is that the possibility thing is a big myth. Life is so complex and so organized as to make anything like evolution by chance IMPOSSIBLE. Imagine you had two nickels and you tossed them in the air. The chances that they would both land heads up are pretty good. Imagine you had 500 nickels and you tossed them all in the air in hopes of that happening. What are the chances now that they would ALL land heads up? It might happen - you say - if you had one billion years waiting for that to happen. Ok, perhaps. However, we have not introduced the element of "organization" into the mix. What are the chances of having the 500 nickels ALL land heads up AND being exactly equidistant in a grid pattern when they land? Zero. Here is an article that better explains what I'm saying in mathematical terms - from an expert. The best argument against the theory of evolution is actually your own body. In order for evolution to be plausible, nature itself would have to be perfect, allowing for changes to be positive and beneficial. However, we all know things degenerate and decay.

Dumb idea

How many different ways are there to foolishly spend tax money? Anatoly Perminov, a Russian pseudo-scientist has come up with one. He wants to have several nations fund a project which he dreamed up. He needs several hundred million dollars, he said. hehehe The project involves coming up with a way to deal with an asteroid which might hit Earth sometime in 2029. The asteroid is about the size of a city block. American scientists who have calculated the trajectory of the asteroid have stated that the worst case scenario is that the thing will miss Earth by 18,000 miles. Perminov, in the meantime, wants to start working on his foolish idea immediately. He is getting on in years and wants to make sure he has time to enjoy some of the funding. Of that I'm absolutely certain. Please. Even this topless woman knows better.

A hoax

So global warming is all a hoax - oh my. I just read some report about some emails sent among pseudo scientists working at some joint called the CRU. I should not be surprised. It turns out they have been faking the data on temperatures in order to.... In order to.... I have no clue what these pseudo scientists are up to. It can't be good if they are all a bunch of hooligan liars. Oh my!!! I think I trust this topless woman more. Scientific research nowadays is all a big scam - it is just about money. Nothing more. A big fraud.

Justice and foolishness

From a Yahoo! News story: “GENEVA – When launched to great fanfare nearly a year ago, some feared the Large Hadron Collider would create a black hole that would suck in the world. It turns out the Hadron may be the black hole. The world's largest scientific machine has cost $10 billion, has worked only nine days and has yet to smash an atom. The unique equipment in a 17-mile (27-kilometer) circular tunnel with cathedral-sized detectors deep beneath the Swiss-French border has been assembled by specialists in many countries, with 8,970 physicists eagerly awaiting the startup. But despite the expense, thousands of physicists around the world, many of whom hope to conduct experiments here, insist that it will work and that it is crucial to mankind's understanding of the universe.” Thomas Huxley said: "You have no notion of the intrigue that goes on in this blessed world of science. Science is, I fear, no purer than any other region of human activity; though it should be." I say, who needs to understand the universe when we so critically need to understand why the world is so unevenly just and unevenly comfortable – too few rich, too many poor, too few healthy, too many sick, too few free, too many oppressed, too few secure, too many afraid. Please. Study that.

Tallerant

From some news story somewhere: “MELBOURNE (AFP) – Tall people earn higher wages than their vertically-challenged counterparts while being obese does not mean a slimmed-down pay packet, according to a new study in Australia. The researchers found a strong link between wages and height, particularly for men, with each additional four inches of height adding three percent to hourly wages.” The same thing is true of beautiful people. Tell me something I don’t already know – this is SO OBVIOUS. Next thing they will tell us is that according to some university study, higher prices cause inflation. Please.

Bias in Science???

From a Yahoo! News story: “A new review of studies finds 29 percent of cancer research published in high-profile journals had disclosed a conflict of interest. While it's a good thing that the conflicts were disclosed, the review also found conflicts affect the research outcomes. The results, announced today, will be published June 15 in the journal Cancer. The findings add to a mountain of evidence suggesting you should be skeptical of health and medical advice.” Really??? This comes as no surprise – there is so much self-serving stuff out there one cannot keep up with all the posturing and pretense and hypocrisy. Good luck.

Plutonium

From a Yahoo! News story: “WASHINGTON – NASA is running out of nuclear fuel needed for its deep space exploration. The end of the Cold War's nuclear weapons buildup means that the U.S. space agency does not have enough plutonium for future faraway space probes — except for a few missions already scheduled — according to a new study released Thursday by the National Academy of Sciences. Deep space probes beyond Jupiter can't use solar power because they're too far from the sun. The National Academy report says it would cost the Energy Department at least $150 million to resume making it for the 11 pounds a year that NASA needs for its space probes. Solar power is preferable to plutonium because it is cheaper and has fewer safety concerns, but solar power just doesn't work in the darkest areas of space.” To begin with, I have not the slightest clue why we need to be exploring outer space when we need to explore solutions to serious problems we have here on this planet. Secondly, I really don’t need to be told that solar power does not work in the dark and that it’s cheaper than plutonium. Please. Either way, the woman at left does not seem to care.
