Joe Paterno and stress

Many years ago, a candidate for president of Mexico, Donaldo Colosio, was assassinated. His widow died a year later. It was tragic because both of them were in their prime. Later, the guy who used to play Superman, Christopher Reeve, died after battling paralysis for years. His widow died a year later. She was in her prime. Now, Joe Paterno is ill. People say it is as a result of stress induced by the investigation into his handling of the Sandusky child abuse case. That is probably true. Stress and worry and depression kill people. Avoid them like the plague.

P.S. Five minutes after I posted this, Paterno died. Sad but true. He was the fall guy for others who should have reported what they knew. He trusted their judgment and they let him down.

Quack Doctors

Now, it has come out that the guy who got convicted for the Lockerbie bombing - contrary to popular belief - isn't going to die any time soon after all, as so many doctor experts had predicted. He had gotten released from prison in Scotland and had gone home to supposedly die in Libya. He had been given six months to live. Now, the news reports have it that he will probably live another ten years. That's why I think all doctors are quacks - they really have no clue. Really.

Hospitals

There is a long article in the New York Times today about infections people get in hospitals. Imagine that. They get into people through careless health workers. Imagine that. They are also deadly because the bacteria are resistant to drugs. More than 99,000 die from such infections per year. Try to stay away from hospitals - and doctors too. This topless woman is healthy - let's hope she stays that way.

Drugs and other treats

This is a short list of the drugs Michael Jackson was supposedly taking recently (all at once): Demerol, Vicodin, Soma, Xanax, Dilaudid, Zoloft, Paxil, and (of course) Prilosec. If this cocktail doesn't kill you, nothing will. What were they thinking?
