Some English diplomats have gone to Beijing, China to ask for clemency for Akmal Shaikh, the person convicted of smuggling drugs into China about two years ago. It was reported that China executes more criminals than all other nations combined. Shaikh is scheduled to be executed tomorrow, December 29, 2009. The diplomats are saying that Shaikh didn't know what he was getting into. It will be interesting to see what the Chinese do. They are not negotiating this at all.
