People who support the theory of evolution to explain the existence of the Earth and the entire Universe and all the things in them and, of course, life itself, use time as a crutch, saying that given enough time, anything is possible. The truth is that the possibility thing is a big myth. Life is so complex and so organized as to make anything like evolution by chance IMPOSSIBLE. Imagine you had two nickels and you tossed them in the air. The chances that they would both land heads up are pretty good. Imagine you had 500 nickels and you tossed them all in the air in hopes of that happening. What are the chances now that they would ALL land heads up? It might happen - you say - if you had one billion years waiting for that to happen. Ok, perhaps. However, we have not introduced the element of "organization" into the mix. What are the chances of having the 500 nickels ALL land heads up AND being exactly equidistant in a grid pattern when they land? Zero. Here is an article that better explains what I'm saying in mathematical terms - from an expert. The best argument against the theory of evolution is actually your own body. In order for evolution to be plausible, nature itself would have to be perfect, allowing for changes to be positive and beneficial. However, we all know things degenerate and decay.

Chickens and eggs
Think about this: Someone plants some seeds that yield plants that yield grain. The grain is fed to some chickens. The chickens lay eggs and have little chicks. Someone eats the eggs and a few of the chickens when they grow up and become plump and edible. Chickens are domestic animals, good for food. Many different dishes can be prepared from chicken meat - some more fancy than others. The chicken is not in control. Someone is in control. Yet, nobody told the seed how to sprout or how to grow - all it needed was soil and water - but someone had to plant it. Nobody had to teach the chicken to eat grain or how to lay eggs but someone had to gather the grain and give it to the chicken. Millions of people believe in the fairy tale known as evolution. The fairy tale says that fish turned into frogs then into birds then into pigs and roosters and chickens and horses and monkeys and lions and tigers and bears and finally into humans. The fairy tale says that one plant magically turned into trees that yield apples, and oranges, and avocados, and mangoes, and coconuts, and bananas, and pears, and peaches, and figs, and nuts; and stalks that yield tomatos, and corn, and rice, and wheat, and beans, and chili peppers, and sugar cane, and barley, and peanuts, and oats; and vines that yield grapes. We know how to turn good grapes into good wine. How odd.

The Final Frontier
China launched a moon probe today. It will explore stuff which the U.S. and Russia have already explored. What is the point? This topless woman wants to know! If space is to be explored, why mimic the same competitive spirit and adversarial nature that people on Earth have experienced for thousands of years already? What's the use of exploring space and setting up colonies and all the rest if at the end, nothing but strife and poverty will result? Anyone know? We are simply exporting misery out to space. Really.

Dumb idea
How many different ways are there to foolishly spend tax money? Anatoly Perminov, a Russian pseudo-scientist has come up with one. He wants to have several nations fund a project which he dreamed up. He needs several hundred million dollars, he said. hehehe The project involves coming up with a way to deal with an asteroid which might hit Earth sometime in 2029. The asteroid is about the size of a city block. American scientists who have calculated the trajectory of the asteroid have stated that the worst case scenario is that the thing will miss Earth by 18,000 miles. Perminov, in the meantime, wants to start working on his foolish idea immediately. He is getting on in years and wants to make sure he has time to enjoy some of the funding. Of that I'm absolutely certain. Please. Even this topless woman knows better.

A hoax
So global warming is all a hoax - oh my. I just read some report about some emails sent among pseudo scientists working at some joint called the CRU. I should not be surprised. It turns out they have been faking the data on temperatures in order to.... In order to.... I have no clue what these pseudo scientists are up to. It can't be good if they are all a bunch of hooligan liars. Oh my!!! I think I trust this topless woman more. Scientific research nowadays is all a big scam - it is just about money. Nothing more. A big fraud. Sunday, August 9, 2009
Justice and foolishness
From a Yahoo! News story: “GENEVA – When launched to great fanfare nearly a year ago, some feared the Large Hadron Collider would create a black hole that would suck in the world. It turns out the Hadron may be the black hole. The world's largest scientific machine has cost $10 billion, has worked only nine days and has yet to smash an atom. The unique equipment in a 17-mile (27-kilometer) circular tunnel with cathedral-sized detectors deep beneath the Swiss-French border has been assembled by specialists in many countries, with 8,970 physicists eagerly awaiting the startup. But despite the expense, thousands of physicists around the world, many of whom hope to conduct experiments here, insist that it will work and that it is crucial to mankind's understanding of the universe.” Thomas Huxley said: "You have no notion of the intrigue that goes on in this blessed world of science. Science is, I fear, no purer than any other region of human activity; though it should be." I say, who needs to understand the universe when we so critically need to understand why the world is so unevenly just and unevenly comfortable – too few rich, too many poor, too few healthy, too many sick, too few free, too many oppressed, too few secure, too many afraid. Please. Study that. Monday, May 11, 2009
Bias in Science???
From a Yahoo! News story: “A new review of studies finds 29 percent of cancer research published in high-profile journals had disclosed a conflict of interest. While it's a good thing that the conflicts were disclosed, the review also found conflicts affect the research outcomes. The results, announced today, will be published June 15 in the journal Cancer. The findings add to a mountain of evidence suggesting you should be skeptical of health and medical advice.” Really??? This comes as no surprise – there is so much self-serving stuff out there one cannot keep up with all the posturing and pretense and hypocrisy. Good luck.

Vicente Fernandez on NPR

Well, I found out by accident that Vicente Fernandez had been made the subject of a piece on NPR. Why am I always finding things out by accident? It's not a bad thing. Almost all of the important scientific discoveries made in the last six thousand years have been by accident, too. There - I feel better already!!!
